John Saunders

John Saunders has been associated with the band since its inception and formation by his father, Jack Saunders, in 1979. He now directs both the Youth and Senior Brass Bands. His career highlights include National Euphonium Championships in 1986 and 1988, multiple NSW Euphonium championships, "Ern Keller" National Champion of Champions in 1998, multiple appearances in the select "Australia Brass" ensemble, and an invitation to play for both a radio broadcast and a CD recording with the famed "Black Dyke Mills" Brass band from Yorkshire England.

In 2006 John was appointed the Musical Director of the NSW Police Band. He has also arranged a number of songs and compositions for brass band.
