Jim McCrudden
Jim McCrudden has been involved with brass bands since the age of 8. After completing his Bachelor of Music at Sydney University, Jim’s banding went into hiatus until a chance meeting with former colleague John Saunders landed him in the cornet section of the Warringah Concert Brass band in time for the Brisbane Nationals. Since then, Jim has moved to the solo chair (although this position is treated democratically amongst the front-row cornets) where he continues to play, as well as arrange and compose music for the band.
Jim has recently become a proud father, and hopes his son Patrick will follow the brass band tradition. Young Paddy has already produced some promising raspberries, but not always from the right end. Jim has been seen as a consummate actor (Shakespearian and other) in a number of productions in the Sydney Area. His original music features in a number of local TV programs and drama productions. He is currently Headmaster of the Australian Institute of Music’s Senior Secondary College.
