John Corley

John began playing the cornet at the age of 7. He has played in a number of Salvation Army bands including Morwell Citadel, Hurstville Citadel and Perth Fortress as well as appearing as a guest soloist with the Melbourne Staff band. John has also played with Midland Brick Band for a short while.

As well as playing John enjoys arranging and transcribing music.

John's highlights in Brass Banding include touring Zimbabwe and South Africa with Hurstville Citadel Band and hearing the Melbourne Staff Band play his transcription of “Widor's Organ Toccata”

John is married with two children and works as a pilot with Qantas.
